Missions Program
We believe that churches start churches and that missions work involves evangelizing a geographic area with the goal of seeing a new church reproduced in the same image as the sending church. God proves and trains men for missions in His local churches and sometimes separates one or more of them unto this work. Recognizing this, the church sends and authorizes these men, normally in teams, to go to the field to preach the Gospel and make disciples. Furthermore, we believe the sending church retains an abiding responsibility and authority over the mission work until a new, autonomous church is formed and recognized.
Accordingly, we have sent our own missionary, Pastor David Sutton, and his family to work in Southern Oregon to evangelize, disciple, and organize a group into what we believe and pray will become a new independent Baptist church. We receive support for the Suttons from like-minded churches that share our desire to see Bethel reproduce a new church in Oregon. We are currently three years into this work and God has blessed us with a core of faithful folks. Please pray for the work to continue growing numerically and spiritually.
We also support church-sent men sent by other churches with the same vision. If you are looking for more information regarding missionary support you may email us and receive our Missionary Questionnaire for prospective missionaries.
